How we help equip families

At The Salvation Army, when it comes to families needing help with food insecurity or housing - Along with meeting immediate physical needs, the Center's of Hope provide educational, counseling, and vocational services to help develop vital life skills and independence for re-entry into society.

First Steps Transitional HousingThe transitional housing facility is a 90-day supportive – yet temporary – type of accommodation meant to bridge the gap from homelessness to permanent housing by offering structure, supervision, support, and life skills. Also, we equip families with a personalized education plan and job skills training. Our facility has eight 2-bedroom units that are apartment style living. Our goal is to provide interim stability and support to families and successfully move them to maintaining permanent housing.

Career Development
Offering the unemployed or underemployed free career development classes, GED classes, and ESL Classes, advice, and job skill training. Make an appointment with our Employment Specialist to find out how we can meet the greatest need to better your career and life situation.

Pathway of Hope
Through involvement with Pathway of Hope, families will be introduces to both Salvation Army and other services that are available with in their community that offer a network of support, a sense of community, holistic programs, and spiritual guidance. Pathway of Hope is also a service connector to Job Training, health services, childcare and education housing options, legal services and much more.
