The Salvation Army Joins with CenterPoint for City of Houston Disaster Readiness Expo
The Salvation Army was proud to join with CenterPoint Energy for the City of Houston Disaster Readiness and Resilience Clinic & Expo at the George R. Brown Convention Center. This incredible event brought the community together in preparation for hurricane season and unexpected emergencies.
Held with the mission to educate and empower residents, the Expo featured booths, resources, and demonstrations from organizations across the region all focused on building a more resilient Houston.
The Salvation Army’s team was on-site, sharing critical information about our disaster services, emergency response capabilities, and ways the community can get involved or receive assistance during times of crisis.
It was an awesome day filled with connection, education, and a shared commitment to preparedness. We’re grateful to CenterPoint for sponsoring this vital event and allowing us to be a part of something that truly strengthens our city.
As always, The Salvation Army stands ready to serve before, during, and after disaster strikes. The Salvation Army Pasadena Corps Emergency Disaster Response team served meals to attendees totaling 1,000 plus.
The Salvation Army’s booth welcomed hundreds of visitors, offering information on our emergency disaster services, volunteer opportunities, and how we respond during times of crisis.
Team members were on hand to answer questions, share stories from the field, and highlight our ongoing work in Houston and beyond.
