Officers, staff, and volunteers recently completed disaster preparedness training
As hurricane season approaches, The Salvation Army of Greater Houston Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) team stands united, anchored in faith, and prepared to respond in times of crisis.
From across the Houston area, our officers, staff, volunteers and community partners recently completed intensive disaster preparedness training, ensuring that when emergencies strike, we are ready to be the hands and feet of hope.
From emergency food distribution to emotional and spiritual care, our teams are equipped to serve with strength, compassion, and unwavering resolve.
This vital training was made possible through the leadership and support of our Texas Divisional Emergency Disaster Services Team, who traveled to Houston to provide expert guidance and hands-on instruction.
We are deeply grateful for their time, knowledge, and commitment to ensuring that every EDS response team is mission ready. Whether it’s providing meals, hydration, clean up kits, or simply a comforting presence in the chaos, The Salvation Army remains a beacon of light in life’s darkest storms.
To everyone who trained, supported, and continues to stand with us, thank you for being part of a team that is ready, resilient, and rooted in love.
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33.
