Career and Community Resource Fair
In August, The Salvation Army hosted a successful Career and Community Resource Fair at the North Main campus, bringing together employers, community partners, and job seekers for a day focused on employment opportunities, workforce development, and community support.
The event welcomed 88 job seekers, 14 employers, and 17 community service providers, creating valuable opportunities for individuals seeking employment and resources to improve their economic stability and quality of life.
The Career Fair produced several positive outcomes. Multiple job seekers received conditional job offers or were scheduled for follow-up interviews before leaving the event. In addition, several attendees took steps toward advancing their careers by enrolling in vocational training programs that will help them develop new skills and increase their long-term employment opportunities.
A significant resource at the event was the Texas Workforce Solutions Mobile Unit, which provided on-site assistance to participants. Workforce professionals helped job seekers create new resumes, update existing resumes, and prepare for future employment opportunities. This service was well received and contributed to the overall success of the event.
The Salvation Army would like to extend its sincere appreciation to all employers, community providers, volunteers, and staff members who contributed to the planning and execution of this event. Their commitment and support were instrumental in connecting individuals and families with employment opportunities and essential community resources.
