Soup, Soap, Salvation Devotion Series, Part 3: SALVATION

When sin first entered the world, God chose not to abandon his creation. And, while humanity falls into sin and dysfunction again and again, God remains faithful. He sent his son as Messiah and Savior to pay for our sin and restore our relationship with God. Salvation is not something we earn but a gift from God, given by His grace.

God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

No matter your background or what you have done, God offers complete and total forgiveness. Because of the sacrifice of Christ, YOU can be saved. You can have hope, peace, joy, victory, and confidence in your eternal destiny.

Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:7-8

Today and every day, The Salvation Army works to change lives for eternity. We desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ wherever and whenever we can. As an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church, our ministry is motivated by the love of God. Our mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ as we meet human needs in his name. Every program we offer is rooted in our passion for serving God by serving the lost, the vulnerable, the needy, the poor, the hurting, the helpless, and the hopeless. By first meeting their physical and emotional needs, we are best prepared to meet their spiritual needs and show them the path toward God’s love and salvation.

Invitation to prayer:

“Father, despite my sin and wrongdoing, help me to believe that you love me and that through Jesus you give me eternal life. Help me to receive Jesus Christ as my savior. Thank you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
