The Salvation Army opens its doors to those here in our local community who need a safe, warm place to stay. The Salvation Army's Cold Weather Shelter remains one of the few emergency weather shelters in South Mississippi and has provided shelter to hundreds of people - including the disabled, single women and families with small children. The Cold Weather Shelter opens when temperatures drop below 35 degrees, below 40 degrees with precipitation, or when area leaders see the need. The Salvation Army MS Gulf Coast has two Cold Weather Shelter locations:

The Salvation Army Gulfport Outreach & Jackson County Day Shelter Check-in is at 4:00 p.m. Dinner is served at 6:00 p.m. The morning after the Cold Weather Shelter is open, a light breakfast will be served and check-out is at 7:00 am.
