By providing programs that serve the body, mind and soul, The Salvation Army helps alleviate the symptoms of poverty - and works to address the root issues that cause it.

How we help overcome poverty

Through a holistic approach, The Salvation Army works intentionally to alleviate the symptoms of poverty while simultaneously addressing the issues that cause it, generation after generation.

Pathway of Hope:
This initiative provides individualized services to Indiana families with children who desire to take action to break the cycle of crisis and vulnerability that repeats generation after generation. It seeks to address the root causes of poverty by following The Salvation Army’s history of compassionate serving. Learn more here.

Food Pantry:
Pantry days and hours are Monday and Friday from 9-12.

We welcome any Tippecanoe county resident twice a month to receive 3 days worth of meals for a family of 4. Any person can visit the food pantry twice within a 30 day period. Call Envoy Audrey Schneider (765) 742-0006 for more information.

Bus Pass:
Let us help you get to work! Call our Tuesday call line (765) 742-0006 on Tuesdays from 9 - 10:30 am to make an appointment to receive a monthly bus pass.

Utility Assistance: 
Utility Assistance is on an appointment basis. Call our call line on Tuesdays from 9-10:30 am for more information or to make an appointment.  Appointments are required to see our Director of Social Services. 

Work Required Steel Toes Boots:
We offer steel toe boots to those who have been out of the workforce for an extended period of time. Work boots are given for those who have obtained employment at a local factory, or another corporation where close-toed shoes are required. Boots are given on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

Glasses Giveaway:
< style="text-align: center;"> Through Eyeglass World, we give away prescription glasses on an appointment basis only.  To make an appointment call Dawna on Tuesdays, between 9 - 10:30 am.
