The Salvation Army of Greater Jackson is committed to breaking the cycle of entitlement that has crippled and destroyed generations of families in Mississippi by educating, inspiring, and empowering this generation to build lives of purpose.

Social Services

The Center of Hope exists to give residents a hand up; not a hand out. Our goal is to integrate graduates of this program back into society by setting measurable goals.

The Salvation Army is striving to change generations by giving children from poverty-stricken environments the chance to get a start in life in a very different place than where their parents may have begun.

Children & Youth

Senior adults gather at the center to socialize and have fun by taking part in activities such as arts and crafts, health and fitness, bible study, bingo, computer class taught by an IT specialist, movie day, guest speakers, and even day trips!

In addition to thousands of Thanksgiving meals, we provide the magic of Christmas for underprivileged children and seniors. Holiday gifts and special-needs items relieve family budgets too tight to allow for extras.

Holiday Assistance

The Salvation Army disaster response teams are coordinated and directed by commissioned officers and trained personnel and supported by volunteers to help those on the front lines of tragedy.
