In addition to addressing the immediate symptoms of food insecurity by providing nutritious meals to families in need, our programs are designed to help identify and treat its root cause. This holistic approach to the needs of each person helps move many from “hungry” to “fully healed.”

The Center of Hope Shelter provides emergency short-term and transitional lodging for homeless and displaced men and women. Residents have access to hot meals, laundry facilities, and resources to guide them down the path to self-sufficiency.  We aim to end the cycle of homelessness and provide an opportunity for a new life.

Our Social Services programs provide emergency assistance. Whether  in the form of utility assistance, clothing and furniture vouchers, or food, we aid households that are facing a crisis situation.

A hand up - not a hand out

“There were times when I felt like giving up, but I couldn’t. My kids were my motivation…there were plenty of times I would just come up here and break down crying or just call for advice. That was a lot of help for me because I didn’t have no one else to turn to about what I was going through. I would like to tell The Salvation Army ‘thank you’ because without them I really don’t know where I would be right now.”  – Beatrice
