The Salvation Army is one of the first agencies to respond when disaster strikes. In the Coastal Alabama command, The Salvation Army maintains two mobile emergency feeding trucks to provide around-the-clock meals to disaster victims and relief workers. In addition, The Salvation Army’s services include counseling and emotional support, as well as providing clean-up kits, food, bottled water and various donated goods. The Salvation Army of Coastal Alabama will also open its doors as an emergency shelter during storms and inclement weather.

In the event of a large disaster in Mobile or Baldwin County, Salvation Army resources can be pooled from disaster relief units across the Southeast. Salvation Army offices in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi have 24 mobile feeding units and a fully-equipped 54-foot field kitchen ready for immediate response when needed.
