The Salvation Army of Coastal Alabama could not help as many people as we do without the loyal and valued support of our ‘Army of Volunteers’.

We always have year-round volunteer needs and opportunities.  Please take  a look at what’s available below, then give us a call to sign yourself up or a group!

Year-Round Volunteer Needs

  • Feeding The Homeless – Individuals, families or small groups help cook & serve breakfast & dinner.
  • Thrift Store Volunteers – Help set up store displays, sort & price donations and greet customers.
  • Special Event Volunteersassist with Salvation Army hosted events.
  • Area Command – Assist with: Clerical/data entry, Maintenance, Beautification Projects, Answer phones, ect.
  • Family Haven – Opens October 2015.  It will provide emergency housing for families without a home. More details to come.

Community Drives

  • Canned and Dry Food

We serve more than 300 meals every day to the homeless and our clients. We also offer a food pantry that receives around 50 requests a month from families in need. We are always in need of food donations!

  • Toiletries

Many times the men, women and children that turn to us for help have nothing but the clothes on their back. Individual and travel size toiletries, socks or underwear are a great way to give them a fresh start.
