Salvation Army Celebrates 150 Years

Salvation Army Celebrating 150 Years of Worldwide Service

This year marks the 150^th Anniversary of the Salvation Army!  We began in London, England and today we can be found in 126 countries.  Locally, The Salvation Army of Coastal Alabama began providing spiritual, social and emotional assistance to the people of Coastal Alabama in 1887.

Many think of the Salvation Army most notably during the holidays for Christmas and Thanksgiving or for Red Kettles outfront retail stores.  However, the Salvation Army is working all year long doing what we can to improve the lives of people needing assistance.

Last week, Salvation Army officers and leaders from across the globe descended onto London, England for the official celebration.
