Women’s Auxiliary
Organized in 1962, the Women’s Auxiliary has been serving the Greater Birmingham area for over 50 years. This group has tremendous community support and is among the largest in the world. As a member and volunteer of the Women’s Auxiliary, you will have many opportunities to share your talents and skills, with members of the Women’s Auxiliary providing over 16,000 volunteer hours last year alone.
Moreover, you will enjoy a unique camaraderie with many of the active members of the Auxiliary. Seen by many as the leaders of vital Christmas programs such as the Angel Tree Program, the Women’s Auxiliary also plays an important part in the entire range of assistance offered to those in need by the local Greater Birmingham Area Command.
Members participate in arts & crafts, fundraising events, fellowship, veteran appreciation events, culinary pursuits and many other wonderful volunteer programs. This group of women are generous with their time and talents and work hard to further the mission of The Salvation Army in all that they do.
