STEP-UP Program

The Step-Up program is a 3-9 month program specifically tailored to the needs of homeless men and women who are ready to step-up to the next level of services. These men and women live in 2-4 person apartments at the Center of Hope and may be enrolled in educational, vocational or rehabilitation programs.

The primary objective is to assist participants in obtaining or sustaining employment and move them into long-term or permanent housing. Each person receives weekly case management and has an individualized service plan to help them reach their goals.

My Place

The My Place program is a long-term housing solution for families in 2-4 person apartments at the Center of Hope with a potential of up to 18 months of residency. All of the participants are employed, attending education or vocational classes or are disabled and participate in monthly case management meetings to address needs, develop next steps and measure progress as they reach for their goals.

This program is designed to increase each family’s chances for success and decrease their risk of returning to homelessness, which is a main focus of all of The Salvation Army’s programs.

Pathway of Hope

Pathway of Hope provides individualized services to families with children who are ready to take action to break the cycle of crisis and vulnerability that can repeat for generations. It seeks to address the root causes of poverty with 18-24 months of trauma-informed case management and goal setting for each family.

We guide families to overcome challenges like unemployment, unstable housing, and lack of education, to find a path toward increased stability and, ultimately, success as each family defines it. Pathway of Hope is a two-generation approach; we help older children set education goals including attendance, grades, and finding out-of-school experiences to support their goals and provide safe, enriching ways to spend their time. For more information, call 205.328.2420.

My Home

The My Home program is The Salvation Army’s Permanent Housing Program that helps homeless women, children and families transition out of homelessness and into permanent housing. The goal of the program is to help families break the cycle of homelessness and generational poverty by becoming productive members of the community. For more information, contact 205.328.2420.
