We know Christmas is not on most people’s minds in July, but at The Salvation Army, we are already preparing on how to meet the needs of our community this holiday season. The WBRC Fox 6 Salvation Army Angel Tree program provides new clothing and toys for children of needy families through the support of donors. Each year the vast majority of our Angels are adopted through our Corporate Angel Tree Program, which includes 71 local business offices, civic organizations, churches and small groups.
Please consider participating in our Corporate Angel Tree Program this year.
We anticipate that the need for Christmas assistance will increase this year and we need help to provide gifts to these local families. The true impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is tough to measure. Alabamians have faced loss of income, financial insecurity, and social and economic burdens. Many neighbors are facing hardships they’ve never faced before and they are reaching out to agencies like The Salvation Army for help. Some who had little to begin with now have less and are working harder everyday to make it to tomorrow. These same families who are struggling to meet the financial demands of day-to-day life question how they might provide gifts for their children on Christmas Day.
We believe that every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas morning.
And thanks to supporters of The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, thousands of children
in Jefferson and Shelby Counties find gifts waiting under their Christmas Tree this year. These gifts provided by our community, give hope to children and their families that are struggling financially.
