2021 WBRC Fox 6 Gifts for Kids Salvation Army Angel Tree Kickoff Christmas Season

(Leeds, AL)- The 2021 WBRC Fox 6 Gifts for Kids Salvation Army Angel Tree officially launched on Friday, November 12, 2021, at The Outlet Shops of Grand River, in Leeds, Alabama. The event was celebrated by an evening of Christmas carols by singer and songwriter, Deirdre Gaddis, who serenaded attendees throughout the evening.

The Salvation Army of Greater Birmingham’s Area Commanders, Majors Robert and Karen Lyle, shared the history of the Angel Tree program, and the need for people to adopt Angels now, more than ever. “There are families that we know who are still struggling to make ends meet, put food on the table, and keep a roof over their heads. The last thing they need to worry about is how they’re going to make a way for Christmas,” said Major Karen Lyle. “The Salvation Army of Greater Birmingham is that way, and none of this would be possible without you,” Lyle said.

Shoppers may visit The Outlet Shops of Grand River and The Riverchase Galleria to adopt Angels in-person, online here, at participating Chick-fil-A locations during “Stuff the Bus,” or shop for toys at Walmart Registry for Good. All purchases are shipped directly to The Birmingham Area Command.

In 2007, WBRC partnered with The Salvation Army of Greater Birmingham, and launched the WBRC Fox 6 Gifts for Kids Salvation Army Angel Tree program to make Christmas possible for thousands of children each year. The program includes media partners WBRC Fox 6 and iHeart Radio, area corporations, churches, and organizations.
