The Salvation Army has been called the world’s largest social service agency. A well-deserved title for a well-known and much-loved organization that serves with “Heart to God and Hand to Man” in every continent around the world— 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. But The Salvation Army knows that it could not do what it does without the vast army of community volunteers who support the full-time soldiers of The Salvation Army. Volunteers who give time, skills and themselves because they know when you give of yourself you get much, much more in return.
Ring The Bell and change lives!
The week before Thanksgiving, The Salvation Army’s signature Red Kettles, manned by bell-ringers, can be spotted at numerous stores throughout the Baton Rouge area. This annual effort is The Salvation Army’s biggest fundraiser. All of the funds generated through this event stay right here in our community to support our Christmas assistance and food programs. They also provide assistance to those in need throughout the winter months. This project represents the community spirit of giving at its best- through the funds that are raised and the hundreds of volunteers who make this effort possible. To volunteer to ring bells please contact Morgan at firstname.lastname@example.org or 225-367-6904.
