The Salvation Army of Greater Baton assists parents and students with Back-to-School preparations this year

Baton Rouge, LA (August 1, 2015) — The Salvation Army of Greater Baton Rouge’s Back-to-School Bash assists families as they prepare for the new school year. Families can pick-up book sacks stuffed with school supplies and acquire resources and valuable information from participating local community service organizations, such as the East Baton Rouge Parish Library, Baton Rouge Fire Department, and I Care.

“We are glad that we are able to make things just a little bit easier this summer for our working families that are trying to make ends meet in Greater Baton Rouge”, stated Captain Brett Meredith.

This year’s Back-to-School Bash will also have a health component to prepare students for a healthy and safe school year.  Metro Health, La Chip, Louisiana Center for Eyes, and Just Kids Dental are just a few of the many wellness agencies providing complimentary services at this year’s event.

Captain Brett Meredith shared, “Anytime that we can get other organizations under the same roof to work together for the betterment of the people in our community it is a good day!”

Back-to-School Bash will be held Saturday, August 1, 2015 from 10:00am until 1:00pm at The Salvation Army of Greater Baton Rouge’s corps center, 7361 Airline Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70805.
