Ida (name changed) is a grandmother of three children ages 11,6 and 3.
She has had custody of them since they were infants. In late November, her husband suddenly died and not only was she left with the burden of funeral expenses, but she literally had no means to provide any Christmas for her grandchildren. Her husband had been the primary wage earner.
She was so thankful as she took delivery of the toys in mid-December, and her children’s faces absolutely lit up as they even received bicycles.
The loss of her husband threw her into a dire financial situation. She contacted TSA, and although the application process for the Angel Tree Program had long passed, TSA was willing and able to provide three toys and clothing for each of the children. This was completed in a matter of a few days, and Ms. Ida was able to focus on more pressing emotional and financial issues in the wake of her husband’s passing.
She was so thankful as she took delivery of the toys in mid-December, and her children’s faces absolutely lit up as they even received bicycles. TSA was honored to provide on the spot service for Ida and her grandchildren, and we will continue to do so whenever possible throughout the coming year.
