NASCAR Fun Day Festival
On Friday, June 6, representatives from The Salvation Army of Jackson attended the Speediatrics Fun Day Festival at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan.
Hosted by NASCAR, the event aims to “promote healthy lifestyles of children in local racing communities through racing-themed lifestyle programming.”
As part of the festivities, a $15,000 check was presented to Sandra Stephenson, Vice Chair of The Salvation Army of Jackson’s Advisory Board. The donation, made by The NASCAR Foundation, supports the organization’s Youth Program. In addition, every child received a bike and a helmet.
Children enjoyed a variety of fun activities, including a “pit crew” tire-changing station, a tire-rolling relay race, and the chance to pick out a new helmet.
The Speediatrics Fun Day Festival was a memorable experience for the children, and the generous donation will help even more young people benefit from life-changing programs.
To follow the example set by The NASCAR Foundation and make a difference in your community, consider donating to The Salvation Army or volunteering at a location near you.
