When weatIMG_0980_-_Mr._Bruce_Van_Pelther conditions become extreme, The Salvation Army opens its doors to those here in our local community who need a safe, warm place to stay. The Salvation Army's Cold Weather Shelter remains one of the few emergency weather shelters in South Mississippi and has provided shelter to hundreds of people - including the disabled, single women and families with small children. The Cold Weather Shelter opens when temperatures drop below 41 degrees, or when area leaders see the need. The Salvation Army MS Gulf Coast has two Cold Weather Shelter locations:

Gulfport Location:

The Salvation Army Area Command Headquarters at 2019 22nd Street. Check in is at 4:00 p.m. Dinner is served at 6:00 p.m. The morning after the Cold Weather Shelter is open, breakfast will be served at Feed My Sheep. Transportation is provided.

Pascagoula Location:

The Salvation Army of Jackson County at 3217 Nathan Hale Ave. Check in is at 4:30 p.m. Dinner and breakfast are served.
