Serving Those In Need – A Cool Place During Heat Alert
Huntsville, AL (July 20, 2017) – Due to the oppressive heat and soaring heat indexes, the dining hall located inside The Salvation Army Community Kitchen is open as a cooling station during the hot weather.
The Cooling Station is located at:
305 Seminole Drive, Huntsville, AL
8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
This location will be open whenever there is a heat warning.
The Emergency Shelter and Community Kitchen will continue to operate as normal. Anyone seeking temporary shelter from the heat is welcome. “The Salvation Army is always ready to assist in any kind of emergency. To anyone in need of cool shelter during these days of extreme heat, we’re here for you, says Major Anthony Baso, Commanding Officer.”
