Today in the Shoals
- Over 6,080 men, women & children are homeless or live in substandard conditions —
and each year that number increases by 8%.
- 24.9% of the area’s population lives below the poverty line and regularly seeks
help for food, clothing and crisis expenses.
- The waiting list for The Salvation Army’s Shelter for Women and Children
stands at 5 — tonight they must sleep on the street.
- Due to strained resources this year, we have had to
limit our assistance to more than 1000 families in need of financial assistance and food.
As it has done since 1927, The Salvation Army of the Shoals is taking action in the name of Jesus Christ. In order to meet today’s level of need, however, we must do more — give more food, provide more shelter, be the Bridge from Help to Home
The Center of Hope: The Bridge from Help to home
For the first time in several decades, The Salvation Army of The Shoals is expectantly turning to you, our community, with a request: Help us build the Center of Hope and do more good. This Capital Campaign, aimed at raising $1,500,000 will accomplish more than the construction of a larger building. Rather, the expanded Center of Hope will allow us to better meet the expanding needs in The Shoals.
And for that, we need you.
