The Women’s Auxiliary of The Salvation Army is an extraordinary, community-minded group of women who donate their time and talents as fundraising volunteers for the work of the local Salvation Army.
In August, the Auxiliary provides assistance to school-age children by providing them with backpacks and school supplies.
In October, the Auxiliary is present to enroll under-privileged families for our Christmas assistance program. Then in December, the Auxiliary helps distribute toys and food boxes to families throughout Greater Baton Rouge and outlining parishes.
In the summertime, the Auxiliary designates the proceeds from their jambalaya and bake sale for sending children to summer camp at Camp Hidden Lake.
The success of the Women’s Auxiliary depends on the efforts of the women who want to improve the community and don’t mind giving of their time, talents and resources to do so.
The Salvation Army is truly grateful to these dedicated volunteers who are “Doing the Most Good” for the community.
