On Wednesday, August 24, Baton Rouge’s WAFB Channel 9 and Essential Credit Union hosted an all day telethon to benefit The Salvation Army of Greater Baton Rouge and the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, each of whom sustained heavy damage to their facilities from the recent flooding. With phones lines being open all day, from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm, the telethon raised a total of $57,125.57!
Donations to the Raising Hope Telethon will go a long way to help The Salvation Army and Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank get back in our facilities and continue our mission of serving the people of the Baton Rouge area.
A special Thank You to the Staff and Management of Essential Federal Credit Union. From manning the phones for the telethon to organizing the donations, the incredible Essential team was the backbone of the telethon.
Last but not least, we must thank Chris Blades, General Manager Lee Meredith and the entire WAFB Channel 9 team for organizing, hosting and broadcasting the telethon. Your continued support is appreciated more than you will ever know.
Thank you to WAFB Channel 9, Essential Credit Union, and everyone who donated!
