Ms. LaShan W. began The Salvation Army “Pathway of Hope” program with very specific goals she wanted to achieve for herself and her 3 children, but not the initiative to achieve those goals.
With help from the Pathway of Hope, she found the courage, support and personal initiative to achieve those goals. Ms. LaShan states, “I believe if I work hard, keep the faith, have the right attitude, continue to be gracious, God will open doors.”
The Pathway of Hope opened those doors for Ms. LaShan and she is now working a full-time job at a local restaurant near her apartment. This is a great opportunity for Ms. LaShan because she is within walking distance for her job. She also attends the Gardere Initiative program where she takes workshops on Adult Education, Business Development and Health & Well-Being.
Ms. LaShan continues to work hard and credits her success to the Pathway of Hope program. Continuing personal growth and one day becoming totally self-sufficient is Ms. LaShan’s goal for her and her children.
